SUMMER SCHOOL IN COLLABORATION WITH TEXTE ZUM NACHDENKEN

The open call invites applications from artists who have developed a dedicated writing practice. We understand writing as an artistic practice founded on a distinct engagement with language and text, materialised and made accessible in formats such as readings, video works, performances or publications (or other practices). In the framework of the summer school, we want to discuss existing texts and share drafts in progress. We want to ask ourselves how our artistic practices work and what role writing plays in them. In this way, we want to create a space to formulate thoughts further, to play with ideas, and to develop new perspectives on our own working methods.

The five-day summer school will be structured around joint writing exercises and reading sessions led and compiled by the participants. Alongside this, we will devote ourselves to working (individually and collectively) on existing or new drafts. We will end each day with a shared meal, which will be prepared in small groups. The week will conclude with a public event at Halle für Kunst Lüneburg, the form of which we will develop together during the summer school.

We consider the summer school to be a collaborative project. The basic requirement for participation is a willingness to come together in a respectful and open (working) atmosphere.

The basis of the workshop is GER/ENG, but writing is possible in all languages, the associated translation processes are very welcome.

Travel expenses (up to 100 EUR) and accommodation will be covered. There is no participation fee.

• Letter of motivation (max. 1 A4 page): What do you expect from the summer school? How does your writing work as part of your artistic practice?

• CV (max. 2 A4 pages)

• Writing samples (max. 6.000 characters in total) and/or portfolio (max. 10 A4 pages)
