SISTER OUTSIDER Feminist-Antiracist Voices on International Women's Day

Event   March 8, 2025, 10:00 – 14:00

According to Audre Lorde, it is not our differences that hold us back, but our silence. From an intersectional perspective, we will read and discuss texts by Black authors that draw connections in the struggle against racist and patriarchal structures. Based on our collective reading, we will draft slogans and posters with which we will then take part in the feminist anti-racist rally in the market square.

The workshop will be guided by FABIENNE MAHWANE GRETSCHEL (-/she). Fabienne Mahwane is a moderator and speaker on the topics of anti-racism and anti-discrimination. As a Black and queer lawyer, Fabienne Mahwane addresses questions of transformative justice and discrimination in various areas of life. Since childhood, Fabienne Mahwane has loved books and reading – preferably with a cat on the lap. What Fabienne Mahwane particularly appreciates about books is the opportunity they offer to immerse oneself in other worlds, times, and mindsets. An intersectional perspective and a critical stance towards power relations are the basis of all of Fabienne Mahwane's work and engagement.

The workshop is aimed at youths aged 14 and up, students, and adults. Text and DIY materials, as well as snacks and drinks, will be provided.
